Paul B. Johnson State Park is a state park on the shores of Geiger Lake in the U.S. state of Mississippi. It is located off U.S. Highway 49 approximately south of Hattiesburg. It is named after Paul B. Johnson, a former U.S. Representative from Mississippi and former governor of Mississippi. ==Description== The park is situated on rolling hills that contain flowering dogwoods, southern yellow pines, and oaks. Geiger Lake, once known as Lake Shelby, was constructed during the mid-1940s using German prisoner of war labor by POWs housed at Camp Shelby.〔
